Today, 8th January 2011 is Olivero Manding 8th Birthday. As per what 1family normally do, Olivero birthday party was celebrated among 1Family members only.
First was the cake cutting and than followed by dinner outside.
For this time round, 1Family went for dinner at seafood restaurant located in Greenwood Park.
1Family would like to share the photos taken during the party. No photo was taken during dinner as the photographer of the event did not bring the camera along.

Today is Olivero Manding 8th years birthday. As per the 1Family tradition, birthday normaly celebrating with cutting of cake at home and then followed by dinner outside.

For second phase of Manding's birthday, we had a dinner at Pizza junction, located along jalan Song Kuching.

After finished our dinner at Pizza Junction, 1Family went shopping at Upwell supermarket which is located about 500meters from Pizza Junction.

After done with our shopping or just before closing hour of the supermarket, 1Family decided to go back it was at that time that we discovered our family car TOYOTA AVANZA had failed us...could not start due to battery weak.

We stranded infront of the upwell supermarket for almost 2 hours, until daddy's colleague Encik Dewai came for our rescue. He came with his jumper....Thanks to Encik Dewai.

A Story of Love, Compassion, Friendship & Loyalty

About eight years ago a wild Australian Sulphur Crested Cockatoo flew into a car and broke its wing. The motorist took it to the Vet in Nerang , Queensland , who had to amputate the wing.
We adopted her - for which we needed a National Parks and Wildlife permit and kept her in a cage outside where she was often visited by wild Cockatoos.
One of the things that impressed us was how she would push lettuce leaves through the bars of the cage, offering food to visitors.

Last Sunday 23 July 2006, she again had a visitor.

As usual he spent a lot of time sitting on the cage with a tamper proof latch

There was a lot of talking and grooming.

A bloke has to look presentable when courting a bird!

Things got interesting when he approached the front door. . . ..

The clever fellow figured out how to undo the tamper proof latch!

He opened the door for a lot of mutual grooming and food sharing...

Oooh that's nice! Scratch a bit more on that side, dear...

He was not shy to get into the cage and would go in and out a number of times

They mated! We are looking forward to beautiful baby cockatoos

Later on, the whole extended family came visiting

but the special mate was back every day so far

We leave the door open during the day but if we forget, it doesn't matter cockatoos have intelligence that rival primates. Because she has only one wing, she stays inside or just sits on top Guess what happened next...

The Babies

At first it seemed as though he was annoyed because she did not fly off with him and he would squawk a lot. He soon came to understand that she could not fly so he just stayed. However, she was no longer returning to her cage.
The two of them would stay in the trees in our garden and because the yard is well fenced, they were safe from dogs but the neighbor’s cat is not kept indoors at night and we often have to chase it away. Chances are the cat would come off second best in a confrontation with a Cockatoo but at night cats remain a danger because they could stalk a sleeping bird on the ground

Cockatoos make their nests in hollow logs but we noticed the male hard at work digging a hole under a clump of Lilly Pilly trees. We put down a hollow log for them but they just ignored us. The nest he dug was a hole with a short tunnel leading off to where she laid her eggs. Once there were eggs in the nest, the male became extremely aggressive. You better not get near the nest or he will take chunks of flesh from your foot. It was difficult to take these pictures because I literally had to steal them while running away from the male

We kept a vigil to see how things were progressing.

They took turns incubating the eggs and covering the tunnel. After about three weeks, the eggs hatched.

Whenever Mum & Dad Cockatoo leave the nest, we try to get a look but you have to do it while running because Dad Cockatoo is chasing you!

Well l, I hope his mother thinks he is pretty and eventually I might think so too but at the moment, both of them just look like pink balls with a bit of yellow fluff

I've been staying in Kuching for more than 10 years but I had never visited all the interesting places in the outskirt of Kuching such as Jong Crocodile, Sarawak Cultural Village, Santubong beach and many more.

But a suggestion by our youngest female members to visit Matang wild life centre had recieved an overwhelming response from all 1Family members. So we agreed to visit the centre on Friday, 27th November 2009.

Introduction to Matang Wild Life Centre.

The Matang Wildlife Centre is about 35km from Kuching. Located in Kubah National Park, this large enclosed area of rainforest is home to endangered wildlife. There is a training programme here that teaches Orang Utans, who have been orphaned or rescued from captivity, how to survive in the wild.

Other than these adorable primates, there are also Sun Bears, Sambar Deer, Civet cats as well as three large aviaries that house Sea Eagles, Hornbills and other birds in Sarawak.

The latest attraction in the centre is a crocodile.

Besides seeing the wild animals in captivity, the visitors to the centre can also do Jungle trekking. There are four jungle trails here, the Pitcher Trail (takes about 2 hours), the Sungai Rayu Trail ( about 3 - 4 hours), the Sungai Senduk trail (about 1 hour) and Sungai Buluh trail (about 2 hours). Picnic spots, an information centre, accommodation facilities, a car park and a small canteen are available at the park HQ.

1Family Trip to Matang Wild Life
We started our journey by our Avanza (thank you to our Avanza) at 1000AM (eventhought we had agreed to start at 0800AM). We took a road from Mile 7th bypassed 4th Mile Satelite town-Green road-Crossing Sarawak River Bridge-Matang Road.
Before reaching Matang new township we saw the new supermarket, the e-Mart. Since we had never been to e-Mart so all of us agreed to stop here for lunch. We reached e-mart at about 1030AM.

At first we had decided to have our brunch at the cafeteria but cancelled at last minute as most of the stalls were closed, probably due to the Hari Raya haji public holiday, as most of the stalls owner were muslim. We then had our brunch at Merry Brown.

After finished our brunch we rounded some of the shops that were opened. Nicole and Manding had managed to influence me to buy them the watches. Let see how long will the watches last.

We left e-mart at about 1230PM.

After about 30 minutes drive, we reached the centre at about 1.00PM.

When we reached the Centre, we were stopped at the gate to buy the tickets. The tickets cost us only RM40 ( RM10 x 2 (Adults) and RM 20 (for students a group of 5).

Before we were allowed to enter, I was given a short briefing. As for today, the bathing spot was closed..

The orang Utans..

Our visits were quiet late and not during feedings time. According to a friend of mine, the best time to visit the centre is during feedings time .During feeding times, the keepers of the reserve call the Orang Utans, and they descend to their food platforms by brachiation along a suspended network of ropes and cables. Visitors are reminded to stay well clear of the Orang Utans because they are known to throw things at human visitors. The young Orang Utans tended to stuff as much food as possible into their mouths before retreating higher into the trees to eat.

The dominant male Orang Utan, called Ritchie, who appeared to be more relaxed, and remained on the feeding platform .....

Bugak is not in the picture as he is still phobia of being attacked by the monkey.

It was in 1994 in PD when he was slapped by the monkey on his face and injured his left eye..but luckily the injury was not serious

Saturday, 16th September 2009.

It's Hari Raya Eve. While most of malaysian Muslims stay at home, 1Familyforever went for dinner. Tonight we went to Express SCR located at Satok.

No waiter came to take our order after almost 5 minutes waiting. Daddy has to yell at the waiter until one iban/dayak waiter came and gave us the menue lists. It was informed later by the manager that they did not have enough waiters as majority of them had gone for Hari raya leave.

At about 9.15pm after finished our dinner at SCR we went to Satok Sunday/Night Market or Tamu for window shopping. As I mentioned earlier, it's Hari Raya eve so the crowd at Satok market was not big compared to the normal weekend. It is normally difficult to walk in Satok market so that explained why 1Familyforever seldomly go to satok Market/Tamu.

We left Satok Market at about 15 minutes to 1000pm.

Dinner At SCR Batu Kawa..

Saturday, 12th September 2009.

Malam ini mommy cadang supaya 1Family makan malam di SCR. Marvin cadangkan agar kita makan malam di SCR Batu Kawah.

Membuat Pesanan Makanan.

Walaupun pilihan makanan tidak boleh dibandingkan dengan menu yang terdapat di Jalan Song, tetapi mutu SCR itu tetap dikekalkan.
Pada malam tadi daddy makan Chicken steak in black paper with rice, mommy makan Salad Chicken Rice, saya dan Marvin makan Chicken Steak in black pepper with french fries, manakala Nicole dan Olivero makan Roasted Chicken -Chicken Rice. Kenneth Bugak tidak bersama 1Family kerana menyiapkan assignment di UITM Kuching...

SCR Batu Kawah yang terletak di Batu Kawah New Township merupakan tempat makan SCR , yang mana saiznya tidaklah berapa besar. Bilangan mejanya tidak sampai 20 meja.

Sungguh menyelerakan..dengan harga yang berpatutan, semua anggota 1Family yang makan pada malam itu sangat berpuas hati.

Selepas habis makan, 1Family pergi ke kedai yang berhampiran, yang sekarang sedang sibuk menjual bunga sempena perayaan Hari raya yang dijangka akan jatuh pada 22 Sep 2009.

Selepas itu 1Family pergi shopping pakaian di kedai yang terletak di belakang SCR. Marvin, Mommy dan Leonnard masing-masing membeli baju.

Selepas habis shopping, 1Family balik pada lebih kurang jam 9.40 malam.

Daddy Baby Sitting Us Today

It's Wednesday, 2nd September 2009.

Marvin is supposed to attend the Co-curriculum activity in school today but was cancelled in last minute. Due t6o Marvin earlier scheduled, daddy has taken a half-day leave to baby-sit Nicole and Olivero.
While driving back from school, Manding informed daddy that he had just got his English and Science subject results and he scored "A' for both of the subjects.
As a complimentary for Olivero outstanding results, daddy suggested that we have our lunch in KFC. Since we have gone to all the KFC outlets nearby our house, Marvin sggested that we having our lunch at KFC , Boulevard outlet.

The outlet was not that biog compared to the Kenny Roggers restaurant located just opposite KFC.

As usual, attracted by the complimentary prize offered by Kid Meal, both Olivero and Nicole chosed Kid Meal.

After finished our lunch at KFC, we proceed to one of the Bookstore located on second Floor of Boulevard. As usual Nicole chosed her favourite magazine...The Barbie.

We left Boulevard for home at about 3.30PM.

ITS CHUNDI's@MICKEY's 6TH BIRTHDAY

Tonight, 29th August 2009, 1Family was invited to a birthday dinner. Seen in the picture Chundi, the birthday boy and Andy with their mommy, standing by the cake. Actually Chundi had just blown the cake, probably could not wait to open his birthday presents.

All boys and girls (Nicole Included) excitedly waiting for their presents...smaller scale compare to Christmas eve.

Atlast...the candles fully lighted, ready to be blown by Chundi and Andy....

In the absence of our grandfather/aki or uncle Jo, someone has to assume the role. Tonight, daddy was made to recite the prayer and a short speech....

Buffet styles dinner. Take as much food as you can and disappaear. But some who need more food it okay to remain at the table! No BBQ tonight as it was heavy downpour just before dinner.

A mixture of foods..traditional, western and malay.... As I said, No BBQ due to heavy rain.

The dinner ended and we left auntie Janet's house at about 10.30pm

Its PIZZA Night

Kuching (Kota Sentosa), 28th Aug 2009.

We had have our dinner in KFC and SCR, so tonight 1Family had our dinner at Pizza Hut, Kota Sentosa. Tonight is still a fasting month for our muslim friends, so to avoid the crowd, 1Family went to Pizza hut outlet for our dinner after 7.30pm.

It quiet different tonight we had our dinner without one of our member Kenneth Bugak. Kenneth was not able to join us as he has to complete his assignment with his coursemate in UiTM Kuching. Hopefully we will be able to "tapau" for him.

As usual, Manding is always very excited with food, especially pizza!

20th Wedding Anniversary Dinner For Mommy and Daddy -14th Aug

It's mommy and daddy 20th Wedding Anniversary today. Since 1family had already went to almost all of the family restaurants in Mile 7th or the nearby satelite towns, so we had decided to celebrate the Anniversary at Singapore Chicken Rice located at No. 19, 1st Floor, Tabuan Heights Comm Centre, Jln Song, 93350 Kuching, Sarawak.

As we can see, my little brother Olivero Manding and my little sister Nicole Helena are very eager to eat at "scr express" . Both of them ordered "nasi ayam panggang" for their dinner and milo "peng" as their drinks. In this picture also we can see my father eat ramen(his first ramen) and my 3rd brother Leonnard eats fried rice. I was seen in the picture at far left, next to Leonnard eating the claypot rice.

Birthday Party at Untie Serani's house in Samarindah, Kota Samarahan. The party was to mark the 1 Month old of one of auntie Serani grandson....The function started at 7.00pm but 1Family only arrived at about 7.30pm. The Delayed was due to the heavy downpour .

1Family Going To Theatre-Its Transformer

26th June 2009-Menonton Tranformer:Revenge of the Fallen Di Cineplex

Pada 26 June 2009, semua ahli 1Family kecuali Mommy pergi menonton filem terbaru yang tengah hangat iaitu Transformers :Revenge Of The Fallen. Pada mulanya kami bercadang untuk menonton di CINEPLEX yang terletak di Springs (Ingat ada Cineplex).

Memandangkan masa kami pergi itu jam 1.00 tengahari memang masa untuk makan tengahari jadi kamipun bercadang untuk makan di Singapore Chicken Rice di Kota Sentosa (Saya lebih biasa dengan memanggil Kota Sentosa dengan Pekan Batu 7) tetapi setibanya di sana kami dapati meja semua dah penuh, jadi kami telah makan tengahari di Kedai makan bersebelahan iaitu MASS CAFE & CATERING.

Kelihatan Leonnard dan Marvin sedang berbincang tentang makanan yang hendak di pesan. Makanan apa yang sedap?

Nicole Helena kelihatan begitu kecewa kerana di MASS CAFE tiada mee goreng basah kegemarannya !

Kelihatan Nasi Beriani ayam yang dipesan oleh daddy! Nampak menyelerakan serta lain daripada Nasi Beriani yang dijual di Kedai mamak...

Sementara menunggu pesanannya Olivero Manding bermain dengan CANON digital camera! Ambil gambar apa itu Olivero?

Marvin Ningkan sedang menikmati Nasi Goreng pattaya kegemarannya!

Oleh kerana MASS CAFE tida ada menjual mee goreng basah kegemarannya maka Kenneth Bugak terpaksa membeli French Fries dari kedai makan SCR bersebelahan!

Setelah habis makan tengahari kamipun bertolak ke arah Bandaraya Kuching menuju ke Springs Supermarket.
On the way ke Springs, setelah melihat iklan yang ada di Borneo Post didapati tiada iklan tentang Cineplex di Springs, jadi kamipun menukar haluan ke Cineplex yang terletak di Majestic. Kami telah sampai di panggung Wayang pada jam 2.25 petang, Just nice!
Daddy pun berbaris untuk membeli tiket. Tiada berapa ramai orang yang membeli tiket. Di depan daddy lebih kurang ada 5 orang sahaja..Ada can dapat tempat di tengah-tengah kata daddy!

Kelihatan tiket yang dibeli (1 tiket terkeluar daripada N70 daddy). Semua tiket berharga RM9.00 X 6 =RM 54! Janji hati puas kata Marvin Ningkan...

Leonnard tengah berfikir tentang makanan yang akan dibawa ke panggung

Tidak dibenarkan bawa makanan sendiri jadi terpaksalah beli di panggung :-

Mineral water kecil -RM2.00 sebotol!

Pop Corn kecil (saty genggam aje) -RM 2.20!

Lain-lain makanan (snack) dijual pada kadar 100% lebih tinggi daripada kedai biasa!

Olivero dan Nicole sempat berposing di depan poster Transformerws yang akan ditayangkan sebentar lagi.

Poster yang terletak di pintu masuk panggung...look scary dengan bouncer yang bagi amaran bahawa membuat rakaman (apa sahaja jenis rakaman) tidak dibenarkan semasa sedang menonton, jadi tidak dapat ambil gambar tentang apa yang berlaku di dalam panggung!

Setelah membeli tiket dan snack, kamipun masuk ke panggung. Walaupun kami dapat tiket untuk Hall 1, tiklet deret D no 6,7,8,9,10 & 11, tetapi kami telah diarahkan untuk masuk Hall 2. Setibanya kami di dalam panggung, suasana nampak tenang dan masih banyak lagi tempat kosong. Jadi kamipun pilih kerusi G kebelakang sedikit dari D, kira okaylah kepala tidak berapa mendongak sangat, jadi tidak adalah tengkok rasa sakit sangat nanti.
Setelah mengambil tempat duduk di kerusi G, kelihatan beberapa orang penonton masih masuk lagi. Jadi untuk mengelak dari kena halau, daddypun membawa kita untuk duduk do deret D...tapi tiada bertanda! Setelah beberapa lama duduk di deret D, kelihatan panggung masih kosong dan tempat duduk di deret G yang kami telah duduki tadi masih kosong, maka daddy telah mengajak kita kembali ke deret G semula!
Tepat jam 2.45 petang, filempun bermula. Semasa di dalam panggung macam-macam karenah daripada Olovero dan Nicole. Mula-mula Nicole mengadu sejuk! Lain kali pakai baju yang bersesuaian ketika di panggung! Lepas itu dia mengadu mahu pergi ke toilet, sampai dua kali dia mahu pergi ke toilet. kali pertama daddy yang temankan dan kali kedua selepas lebih kurang 3/4 (3 suku) cerita ditayangkan!
Olivero pula selepas lebihkurang 11/2 jam cerita ditayangkan, beliau mengadu bahawa dia rasa mengantuk serta mahu pulang...satu gangguan lagi.
Tayangan tamat pada jam lebih kurang 5.15 petang iaitu lebih kurang selama 2 jam 30 minit. Tanpa membuang masa kamipun bergegas pulang. Hati puas menonton dengan sound system serta screen yang luas kalau dibandingkan dengan menonton di rumah. Tetapi badan rasa sakit-sakit kerana tempat duduk panggung yang tidak ergonomik..atau layman term tidak user friendly serta sangat sempit!

Filem ini mengisahkan pertarungan organisma robot raksasa yang boleh berubah bentuk. Telah berlaku sesuatu kepada Sam Witwicky (lakonan Shia LaBeouf) pada hari beliau ke kolej dan kejadian itu telah mengubah lanskap rumahnya sekali lagi. Anda akan terhibur dengan melihat bagaimana teknologi komputer dapat menghidupkan robot-robot ini dan kagum dengan kelicikan mereka menggabungkan filem, animasi, manusia, hutan, bandar, angkasa lepas dan Megan Fox.

Ulasan saya :

Antara scene yang menarik untuk diperkatakan oleh seorang lelaki adalah scene Megan Fox berlari sambil memakai tube. Ya, ketika ini kamera sedang slow motion.

Movie kali ni lagi best berbanding dengan sebelum ni dari segala sudut. serius best. super best. gile gile gile best.

Kali ni, aksi bergaduh robot adalah lebih real dan syiok berbanding sebelum ni yang agak bersopan santun dan berbudi pekerti mulia.

Darah adalah merata-rata disebabkan oleh luka tangan robot terputus, kaki robot tercabut dan kepala robot hancur tapi darah tu semua diganti dengan minyak.

Ya, kali ni lebih lawak berbanding sebelum ni.

Kali ni Optimus Prime bergaduh dan berupaya untuk membunuh! Hebat kan? Kalo sebelum ni nampak Optimus Prime nak picit semut pon malu-malu.

Bumblebee jugak lebih masculine . Benar, kali ni dia lebih aksi, lebih manja, lebih berperasaan, lebih lucu dan lebih gagah! Huriaa !!

Filem ni lama hampir 2 jam setengah. Tapi disebabkan best sangat filem ni, aku tak sedar pon masa berlalu.

Robot-robot kali ni lebih kejam dan lebih sadis .

Saya syorkan anda menonton filem ini secepat mungkin dan rasakan keseronokannya dari pertengahan filem sampai habis. (Permulaan filem ini agak ringan dan bosan pada babak-babak awal melainkan jika anda peminat Megan Fox).

Our New Family Member...Michelle.

Today we recieved our new member, a puppy and we name her Michelle. Michelle is a mixed breed , her father a local breed and her mother is a 60% - 70% German Shepherd.

Michelle is about 7 days old, healthy, friendly and very active.

19th June 2009. Wild Boar and Mousedeer Meat From Empaling

Today my brother Storey came down to Kuching from Kampong Empaling. Along with him he brought wild boar and mousedeer meat. The wild boar he bought it from our cousin Ami who shot it last night. Whereas the mousedeer he shot it himself also last night.

This is how the wild boar meat look like.

Mousedeer Meat...

For lunch, I fried the mousedeer, ginger fried style whereas for the wild boar, I cooked it soup style. A very simple soup just add it with salt, ginger, lemongrass/serai and garlic.

This is how the Mousedeer fried in ginger look like...Delicious ! Finger Licking said my eldest son Kenneth Bugak.

20th June 2009 - Pansoh Wild Boar and Mousedeer

Another way to cook the wild animal meat such as the wild boar and mousedeer is by pansoh or by cooking them using the bamboo. This bamboo can be bought from the market especially the Sunday Market

Ingredients:

500mg of Wildboar or mousedeer meat cut into pieces
1 local brinjal, skinned and cut into wedges
1-2 lemongrass - bruised
20g bungkang leaves
20g ginger - sliced
10g red chilies, seeded and sliced(Exceptional , for Iban we seldomly add our pansoh with chillies as we dont eat spicy food)
1 tsp salt

Cooking Utensils

Bamboo log
Tapioca leaves or banana leaf

Directions:

Combine all the ingredients, except the last two, in a mixing bowl and set aside for 10 minutes.
Stuff into the bamboo log and seal with the tapioca leaves or banana leaves
Cook the wildboar or mousedeer by standing the bamboo log sealed side up, over burning wood or charcoal, for 30 minutes.
To serve, remove the tapioca/banana leaf and drain the tasty juice into a bowl. Split the bamboo to extract the chicken and arrange on a serving dish with the juice.

Pansoh is easy to cook and the food cooked by pansoh also healthy as it was done without oil and the Aji No Moto.

Happy Birthday To Daddy - Its Daddy's 41st Birthday

Tidak seperti pada tahun yang lepas, harijadi daddy pada tahun ini diadakan dalam keadaan tenang, tiada kejutan. Ini disebabkan pada hari ini daddy balik dari tempat kerja lebih awal daripada biasa serta sampai di rumah lebih awal daripada mommy.

Hari jadi daddy diadakan didalam keadaan sederhana, dan salah satu lagi kelainan adalah tiada dinner di luar seperti pada tahun-tahun yang lepas.

Untuk dijadikan kenangan, majlis dimulakan dengan acara bergambar seisi keluarga (Family Photo Taking). Dengan menggunakan features yang ada pada NIKON CoolpixS9, acara bergambar seisi keluarga dapat diadakan dengan semua anggota 1Family dapat diambil gambar bersama..Thank You NIKON.
Walaubagaimanapun seorang ahli 1Family iaitu Auntie Icha sudah tidak bersama kami lagi dan tiada di dalam gambar kerana dia telah berhenti mulai 28th May 2009.

Acara diteruskan dengan nyanyian Happy Birthday. Tiada bacaan doa kerana biasanya daddy yang membaca doa sibuk mendengar lagu "Happy Birthday" yang dinyayikan untuknya, serta terlalu excited untuk meniup lilin serta (kemungkinan) tengah berfikir tentang hadiah yang akan dia dapat...

Setelah habis nyanyian Happy Birthday, daddy terus meniup lilin....Perhatikan jumlah lilin yang ada..4 lilin besar dan 1 lilin kecil/pendek....HAPPY 41ST BIRTHDAY DADDY!..

Setelah meniup lilin, terus menjamu KFC yang disponsor oleh Mommy....Thank You Mommy,

Cuba tengok Leonnard Morris...Kelihatan tidak sabar untuk menjamu ayam goreng KFC....

Gawai Dayak 2009

Gawai 2009 in Empaling, Sg. Tenggang . 1st & 2nd June 2009

(Kuching, 1st June 2009 at 1715hrs)

Eventually after Olivero recovered from stomach-ache , we all agreed to celebrate gawai in Empaling

Serian, 1st June 2009 at 1945hrs. We stopped at Serian for dinner. We had to take dinner here because the journey from Serian to Empaling, Sg. Tenggang will take about 2hours drive. Under normal circumtances we will reach Empaling by 1000pm.

We reached Empaling at about 1015pm. Not many people came to welcome us at my mother house as most of them had already too "tired" as a result of the gawai activities for the whole day. A quiet and a hot night for us....without electricity and air-cond.

Empaling, 2nd June 2009

The next day, 2nd June 2009 one pengabang came to visit us...most of us were still sleeping and followed by few. My uncle, a longhouse chief came, and after that invited us to his house. For the whole day on 2nd June, I visited 6 houses in Empaling and 2 in Tekuyong. I "finished" at ex-TR Masa house. My cousin "Bungkok" came to my rescue at about 8.00pm.

We left Empaling at about 9.00pm and reached my in-law house at about 10.35pm. No photo was taken in Empaling as all members of 1family were busy. I was so disappointed as I forgot to take the picture of concrete road project ( 60m x 2m) that cost RM40K - A MRP project by YB Snowdan I guessed.

Sri Aman, 4th June 2009 - Last minute Marketing and negotiation on Blackberry. Three families in 3 saparate cars left Sri Aman to Kuching on 4th June 2009. We reached Kuching at about 9.00pm.

31st May 2009 (Kuching).
Today we are still in Kuching. 1Family is supposed to go back to Kampong Empaling today but one of our member still not feeling well, so we had decided to postpone our trip to Empaling and stay put in Kuching until 1st June 2009. Our youngest family member has been complaining about stomach ache since Thursday,29th May 2009. Since then until today we had send him to the 3 general practitioners and a specialist. First two general practitoners suspected that he had an appendicitis and reminded us to observe his condition closely, and if his condition worsen , to send him to the hospital immediately.

On 30th May 2009, his situation did not change so we decided to send him to Kching Specialist Hospital , one of the specialist hospital available in Kuching. He was checked thoroughly, using X-ray and ultra-sound. The doctor diagnosed that he is suffering from stomach-flu and could take few days to recover. And today he is still complaining of stomach ache. We will have to wait for him to recover atleast until his situation improve a bit before we could celebrate our gawai in Empaling.

Gawai Eve, 1200AM. I was already asleep when Marvin woke me up for the Ai Pengayu drinking (directly translated as Long Life wine ). Every family members joined the ocassion except Nicole and Olivero who had already gone to bed. Unlike in the longhouse , our gawai eve this year is one of the simplest gawai eve that we had ever celebrated so far. Very simple without any oooha.. just a sip of tuak and followed by wishing each others the Selamat Ari Gawai or Happay Gawai Dayak wishes. Immediately after drinking the tuak we all went to bed and waiting for Olivero condition to improve.

Marvin Ningkan's 16th Birthday

It is Marvin's 16th Birthday. Happy Birthday to you Marvin Ningkan!

Today is an actual birthday for Marvin. Since birthday dinner was held yesterday, 23rd May 2009 at Chicken Hartz , Satok Kuching, tonight is just a Cake Cutting ceremony. Seen in the photo is a birthday boy, Marvin Ningkan (in yellow T-Shirt) cutting the cake. It just a family business therefore only involved the member of 1Family.

Ice-Breaking Posting

First of all, I would like to thanks all visitors to this blog. This blog has been set-up today, 31st May 2009 that is on Gawai dayak Eve.

This blog is name 1Family. Why do we name it as 1Family? Just like the rest of families in Malaysia, 1Family is intending to practice a good family values. The basic values that 1Family is going to adopt are (but not limited to ) :-

(1) Respect your parents and all the elders

(2) Cooperation and understanding among family members.

(3) Family First-adopt the tradition

As an introduction, 1Family has 7 members, my wife and I, Our eldest son Kenneth Bugak who is still studying in local university (Uitm). Marvin Ningkan our second son is in Form 4 at the government secondary school near our residential area. Our third son, Leonnard Morris is a handsome boy but still has no girlfriend. And he is also still studying in Form 1 at the same school with Marvin Ningkan.

Next member of the 1Family is Nicole Helena who is also my only daughter. She is studying in Standard 3 at the same school with the youngest member of the family. And the youngest member of 1family is Olivero Manding, who is 7 years old. He is at Standard 1.

This blog will record our activities from 23rd May 2009 and onward. The whole members of 1Family will be given the Oppurtunity to update this blog.

To those who keen to follow the life of the middle class Iban family, this blog is the best place for you to visit.
